These boots are made for....rain. Surprised? You shouldn't be. But what I did get a rude awakening about was snow. I kept on seeing so many adorable pictures of other girls in their hunter boots out in the snow, and maybe I made the mistake of assuming they were wearing them outdoors for long periods of time; but I found out the hard way. On one of the last big snowfalls in Maryland, my fiance and I went out to take pictures, and I decided it was the perfect photo-op for my new fire-engine red Hunter boots my fiance had gotten me for Christmas. While we only stayed for about forty-five minutes, we mostly ended up leaving because my feet were literally frozen. Not just cold; frozen. As in, couldn't move, couldn't feel them; even with regular socks AND the "sock" inserts, made especially for Hunter boots.
But that's the bad, and ugly, of these boots. So save yourself the misery and skip the snow whether its for five minutes, or forty-five minutes.
But the good about these boots is that they are the perfect rain boots. The perfect shade of red is definitely a plus too. So far, since December, these boots have kept up really well through snow and endless rain puddles. They're warm enough while I carry on throughout the day, and comfortable too!
Lesson: Invest if you're looking for the perfect rain boot, but stick to another option if you're looking for a cute snow boot/alternative.
Hope this helps!
